Not a Santiago pilgrimage but interesting for our AU members:
A glimpse of history will be visible on the district’s roads this week with the arrival of the Henry Lawson Pilgrimage Drive. The procession of horse riders and horse-drawn carriages is an annual trek between Grenfell and Gulgong to honour the famous writer. Born in Grenfell, Henry Lawson moved to Gulgong as a young boy. The pilgrimage is undertaken by members of the Gulgong Heritage Harness Association and stops off at various points in the local area. This year the two-week trip takes in Gooloogong, Gumble, Cumnock, Comobella, Spicer’s Creek, Geurie and Goolma.
