How Busy will this be?

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning (June/July 2015)
I am walking part of the Camino Frances starting June 27 and had heard that 2x the people registered in the month of May alone as compared to last year? My concern is being able to find a decent place to stay if you aren't the first one in line? I'm not worried about the crowds on the path.....due to recent events I will feel much safer.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
From where to where are you walking? You are starting late, as in, many spanish students are also walking the camino. Although busy, most of them only walk the last part from Saria.
You can of course call to an albergue ahead to reserve a bed, but what fun is that. It does take away some worries and you walk a lot more relaxed. On the other hand.... it also takes away from the true pelgrim spirit.
AND.. what if you over estimated your physical condition...?? Just walk... enjoy the day and have faith... there is always a bed somewhere.. TRUST on that.

Just got back... forgot to change my status

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
It will be busy. Avoid the heat; start early and stop by 2 to 3 p.m. You won't have a problem finding a bed! Buen camino.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.

Starting SJPP to wherever! Only have until the 20th of July to walk. Would like to get to Leon....but trying to just get it in my head to go as far as I comfortably can. Go back and finish next year.

Hi Melanie, I finished my Camino Frances 3 weeks ago. It took me 22 day's to Leon. And when not, no problem enjoy yourself and come back next year. Wish you well and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Love the "to what ever", good for you! Take your time and see where the Camino takes you. That is the best way to enjoy it.

It could be easier to find beds in June than in May. For people startng from SJPP, April/May is one of the peak times, as many want to avoid the heat of summer (September too.). Sure, the number of pilgrims arriving in Santiago peaks in summer but most of them will not have walked between SJPP and Leon. Buen Camino!
