I am walking from Villa do Conde to Pedra Varada (Antonio's famous Albergue). Antonio's Albergue is booked as well as the two Quintas. Any other suggestions on where to stay. I feel it would be too long to walk from Villa do Conde to Barcelos. . Any other suggestions on where to stay? Thanks.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Kim , walk to the albergue of São Pedro de Rates instead of Pedra Furada which is not an albergue but a hostal with two rooms .
From São Pedro which is 6 kms before Pedra Furada you can easily walk to Barcelos (20kms)
From there walk another 18 kms on the waymarked path to Casa Fernanda which will be the best caminho Português experience to stay the night.
I do not know when you will walking but give Fernanda a call in advance thst you are coming to be sure she will have a bed for you.
Tel +00351 914 589 521

From Fernanda it is an easy 14 km walk to Pontecde Lima.

Albertinho,
Unfortunately and with much frustration I am having to have my bag transferred from town to town. I am using the Caminofacil
Service. I would like to stay at the Sao Pedro de Rates Albergue BUT apparently you cannot have your luggage dropped off at Municipal Albergues. I realize I would not be guaranteed a bed at the Albergue, but I would take that chance. Any suggestions? I can't imagine the Albergue would get rid of my bag. I am a "legitimate pilgrim" I just can't carry my pack☹️. Thanks Again.

I think the hospitaleiros of the Rates albergue will not take the responsibility for your backpack. The last time on our way to Pedra Furada we stopped at the Rates albergue
During midday and nobody was there. All doors were open .so I can imagine their policy. It is a big albergue so beds enough.
Maybe an alternative ; walk as far as Pedra Furada and take a taxi to Barcelos.
The last part from just before Pedra Furada to Barcelos is not a real pleasure to walk alongside the road so I should opt that posibility.and it is only a few kms.
In Barcelinos for the bridge to Barcelos is an albergue and in Barcelos too and lots of hotels ,hostals etc.
At Casa Fernanda they can drop off luggage.
In Ponte de Lima I do not know but there are lots of hotels and hostals .
Hope this helps

Bom caminho
