I used the guide book from the confraternity. It was very good and despite not being up to date will get you to Santiago. I also used Google earth to have alook at the route.
When I was walking through Stansted airport today I noticed that the Principality of Asturias now has a booth there, presumably part of some agreement with one of the budget carriers to boost passenger numbers. I picked up a small booklet "To Santiago through Asturias", it would not be enough to rely on but has some useful information and is free and published by the principality. There were plenty of other tourist booklets.
