Ideas - where should I stop for rest days?

A couple of days to go and I'll be off, for an April 1st start. Looking eagerly at the weather forecast I'm just putting the finishing touches to the route and wondering about rest days. I'll stop off in Merida for a couple of nights to look at the Roman ruins and museum, but where else should I consider for the VDLP / Senabres route? I'm not in any particular rush so a day off here and there would be welcome.

I'm a fan of Salamanca. Zamora is another lovely stop. Most people stop in Ourense too. I ended up having a rest day in Galisteo purely not to lose my walking buddy as he was catching up with his brother for a day.

Why not go with the flow and just do it wherever you are that you feel like doing it?

Caceres, Salamanca, Zamora, Ourense, and I would say one day enough for Merida. You can also consider a few short days being a good idea, meaning you get to your place around 11 am and have the day for looking around, do this for Merida with another full day there that would be enough. Short walking day and long Afternoon for Zafra. Couple of days in Seville. As Al said go with the flow and above all listen to your body, especially important in the beginning.
