Hunto is about 3 km before the albergue at Orisson, and about 5 or 6 km from St Jean PDP. We stayed in the farmhouse albergue in Hunto which had several levels of accommodation and provided a meal around the dining room table for all of the guests that night plus the farmer, the farmer's wife and her father. Very nice atmosphere. There is a tourist office in St J PDP that phoned through and booked a room for us. The albergue at Orisson looked rather attractive, but was closed for the winter when we went past.
We found the walk to Roncesvalles was very challenging at the start of the journey and were glad we had stopped at Hunto.

The auberge in Orisson is very nice. I spent one night there in september 2005.

There are 18 beds, nice showers, laundry facilities, a large dining room and bar. It is very clean and well kept. You can also pitch a small tent outside in the back of the building.

It is only open from april to october... too bad for early spring and fall pilgrims.
