My family are starting the Camino Finisterre on the 26th June. We arrive into Santiago on the night of 25th June. A few years ago I stayed in Santiago on that night and could not sleep with the noise. Can anyone recommend where to stay on that night that will be quiet, we hope to head off early in the morning and will need a good nights sleep

I have to ask: do you mean July 25, St. James Day? I cannot figure out why you would have any problem with June 25...
Its St John's night - Noche San Juan and is celebrated all over spain, a mid-summer celebration. The fireworks and bonfires are started at 12 o'clock at night. When we were there in 2016, went on until the early hours of the morning!!! Great if you have the next day to sleep all day...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

June 23-24th this year, so you should be a day behind it this year. Only Catalonia (Barcelona) has closures for it, but there seems to be a lot of fire and noise to celebrate!

It's been 5 years since being in Santiago and my perceptions are stuck in a decade ago. But these days it's so much easier to find good vegetarian and vegan food here. Yesterday I had a wonderful...
Mods: please move this thread to wherever it belongs and/or give me links to threads about this. Thanks! I will be in Santiago on Apr. 28-30. Usually I have stayed at zthe Last Stamp, but they...
I plan on arriving in SDC on July 23, and stay a day or two. How feasible is it that I will be able to get a seat for the 10:00 Mass on the Feast Day, the 25th? Am I better off attending a...
