Jewish Pilgrim Hanukkah Alert! Sunday evening begins our Hannukah celebrations, a time of light in these dark days. In the words of Baden-Powell 'Be Prepared'! In the Good Old Bad days candles could be found for a small price in any church. In these sootless, candle-free days there are none to be found. Most stores - tiendas - will carry candles - velas - but you will need a bakery for the doughnuts - rosquillas, Happy Hannukah!

Not isfenğ but rather- Sfenja in origin a North African sort of beignet introduced to al-Andalus with the Umayyad conquest and still enjoyed by Jews especially those from Morocco. And no, you can't eat just one, Thank you for the Hanukah greeting.
