Hi, I’m Carolina from Uruguay, I’d like to see your advices to me. I’m arriving on 2th, june, to Madrid. I’ll stay there a day to buy all my Camino staff (also backpack), only have allready my boots. Can you tell me where to buy everything? (Socks, backpack, sleep bag, etc, etc), thanks!!!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Carolina,
Google: Decathlon Madrid. There are several stores in the city. They usually have lots of useful and inexpensive hiking clothes and equipment.
Buen camino.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Carolina, buena suerte, you are going to love el camino. Muchos caminantes from Sarria to Santiago. Can you get the backpack in Uruguay? In this way you can practice with your backpack on. Buena suerte y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Hi Carolina and welcome to the start of a wonderful experience.

Only thing I wouldn't buy from Decathlon is a backpack. Not a scientific study but two of the ladies I walked with last year had problems with pain caused by rubbing from a Decathlon back pack near the hip belt.

Buen Camino,

Rob.

Walking from Sarria in June you really will not require much equipment, so no need to spend too much money. Buy the lightest minimal sleeping bag I would say and a backpack no bigger than 35 liters. Also there is a nice outdoor equipment store in Sarria itself.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Do you know any other store? Thanks

Hi Carolina,

Sorry. I do not know about the stores in Madrid but I'm sure someone else will be able to help.
