Leaving our car in SdC

We are driving our own car into SdC and planning on catching a bus to Sarria - then walking back to SdC.

We have been advised that our best option may be to leave our car in 'secure' parking for the week at SdC airport. Just wondering what your thoughts are - has anyone done this? Would our car be safe there and would we get a bus easily from the airport?. Does anyone have any idea of the cost per day for this parking? (The only websites I can find are in Spanish ..)

I have read that there is a bus from SdC to Sarria around 6pm daily. We will be doing this on a Sunday - does the bus run on Sunday?

One last question . .. a recommendation for accommodation for our first night in Sarria prior to starting our camino. An albergue that's easy to find and has good reviews?

Thanks everyone ... Leanne

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I don't know about transit buses between Santiago and the airport, but in May of this year I paid 19 Euros to take a taxi from the old part of Santiago near the Cathedral to the airport.

I think the secure parking at the airport is a good idea. No clues about the cost.

Can't help you on the buses to Sarria.

Tried to find my credential from 2006 to get the name of a good private albergue in Sarria, but can't find it. Now I'm in a panic.

Good luck as you put your trip together.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Thanks annie, david and falcon - there are some great links there. I look forward to having a closer look through them. Seems that the airport is a feasible (and affordable) option for storing our car - thanks for those links annie.

Cheers ... Leanne
