Hello friends!

I'm heading to walk the Camino Frances this June. I live in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada, and am walking to commemorate the recent completion of my PhD! I've never done anything like this before, and hope that I'll be able to manage. I run a bit but am definitely not an experienced trekker.

Thanks to all for the amazingly helpful information on everything from packing to food to inspiration! Hope to see some of you on the way.

Cheers,
Jenn

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Jenn - sure, you have the 'what if' thoughts at the moment 'what if I'm not fit enough' 'what if I can't find somewhere to stay' 'what if I get lost' ' what if my pack gets stolen' - is ok, all normal pre-camino thoughts .. and that nervous excitemnt too!

one step at a time Jenn, one step at a time - you will be fine

buen Camino

Hi Jenn,

Joe from Ireland here. I'm actually getting into St Jean the afternoon of the 12th June, and I'm staying in Orisson on the 13th, perhaps our paths will cross! I plan to ease myself into the walk for the first few days!

It would be great to meet with a fellow first time pilgrim! Keep in touch with me on this forum and we maybe will be able to walk some stage together!

Buen Camino

Joe

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Perhaps the most important tip is to take it slowly in the beginning and not to overdo it the first few days. Also being realistic with your time planning and leaving enough space / days for sudden emergencies helps. As a young but relatively untrained walker I would suggest not to go more then 15mi/20km during the first days. Your body will tell you when you can start to walk longer distances, if you want to do that. Listen to your body and just do one step at the time, the rest follows nearly by itself. Buen Camino!
