I’m here in Porto, leaving tomorrow. I still haven’t decided on either the coastal or inland route. I’m keen on other pilgrims on the road and of course beauty, anyone have a suggestion? Anyone else also walking from Porto soon? Thanks, Naina

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walk in three weeks and chose the inland route for a variety of smaller reasons, but mainly because it’s the historic route and I have plenty of opportunity to walk the coast at home. If neither of those are important to you, I've heard the coast is spectacular. Buen Camino! (Your next decision will be the Spiritual Variant or not!🤔)

Thank you. I keep oscillating!! There’s a shell marker on the Calle outside my hostel, I’m tempted to just follow it and see which path I end up on!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
That ALWAYS leads to adventure! Buen Camino!

I attempted to walk the CP coastal route in 2018 and used the sea as a marker. It wasn't easy because despite how often I tried all roads led to Santiago on the central route. Why choose! 🤠

Hi, I am walking the coastal from Porto, starting Wednesday. Slow Camino so I doubt we will catch up with you. Buen Camino and enjoy

I walked the costal route last year (including the Spiritual route) and loved it! I have not walked the inland route so I can't compare the two. If you do decide to walk the coastal route, don't make the same mistake I did by walking in sandals on the beach and then continuing for the rest of the day in them (without socks) on the cobblestone roads. I developed the worst blisters of my life and suffered for the rest of my camino. This was totally my fault and my suffering could have been easily avoided. I'm sure you will enjoy whichever way you decide to go.

If having company of other pilgrims is important to you then the inland route might be better - three times as many pilgrims chose that last year compared with the coastal route. Though the coastal path is growing in popularity very fast.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you everyone and the forum. I’ve gone inland ❤🚶‍♂️
Don’t forget to go to the alberque in SAN Pedro de Rates!!It is just great!!!!
