Time of past OR future Camino
Portugese Planned
Hello everyone,
I am currently on the Portugese Camino in Coimbra.
Before I left j was trying to figure out postage and I've just done it so i said I'd help out by sharing my experience.
I posted 800g from Coimbra Portugal to Ireland. Within the EU.
The box cost €1.20. They have a selection of sizes. This box was recommended for up to 3kg weight.
To post 800g via standard delivery (5-10days) cost €7.80.
If I has wanted faster deliver it was €9.50.
So I think it is around €10 per kg to post from Portugal to the EU.
Might be useful info for those of you wishing to post things to Ivar in Santiago.
I hope this helps, I'm having a lovely time, but my backpack was a bit too heavy.
I think overpacking may be part of the process!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Great info for future walkers. Just curious because I know you struggled with your packing list, what did you decide was unnecessary? And did you end up bringing the sleeping bag? Buen Camino!

I had some extra clothes, 3 tops, 2pairs of socks. And an extra dry bag. Nothing too much but it made a difference sending it back. I did bring a sleeping bag. I'm glad I did. All the albergues have provided light blankets, but even with the sleeping bag and the blanket sometimes it was still a bit cold. The more ppl in the albergue the warmer it is. Thanks

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
