Looking for a *good* online map/image that shows *all* the camino routes in Spain

Such a seemingly simple thing, but I have struggled for a long time to find a good online map/image that shows all of the camino routes in Spain, and also includes the names of the different routes.

I can find countless maps that show some of the routes, and countless ones that show all of the routes but doesn't show the names, but I have yet to find one single map with everything on it.

I constantly read about different caminos/routes/variants, and then have to waste time combing through different maps trying to figure out where those caminos/routes/variants are located.

Anyone have a link to a great camino map?

Your question seems to assume that there is some clear and accepted definition of what a "camino route" is. But the reality on the ground is much more messy than that. New routes are springing up all the time. Often local initiatives. Some of these gradually attract walkers over a period of many years. Some routes have well organised advocates who work for their recognition by the Santiago cathedral and eventual inclusion on the UNESCO and EU heritage lists. Others remain fairly low key alternatives known and followed by very few. I very much doubt that any definitive list of ALL the Camino routes exists.

Thanks, and yes the wikipedia map is pretty good, but of course doesn't have everything. Example - I read a post today that mentioned the "Espiritual Variant" of the Camino Portuguese. Wished at that time that I had a map that I could quickly pull up to see where this variant was. Just one example. Of course as I research the various routes the need for such a map will decrease I realize.

I stumbled across this map a year or two back, it might have been here, it might have been somewhere else. Likely it is not EVERY Camino in Spain, but the majors are there and there is a lot of detail. Respect to whoever created it:

The Mapas de España app from the Spanish government's IGN can give you something similar to the above but you can select what sections of what caminos you want displayed. That means you have to work to select them of course. The camino list shows when you select the icon up top with the directional arrow in the diamond.

It's fair to give you a warning though; this app can do a lot and so it is complicated, Help can give you a basic manual but it is 94 PDF pages in Spanish.

I’ve been using an online gos map from a Dutch group for several years that overlays onto map apps such as Maps.me and can be used offline I have used it on many Caminos including all the majors and lesser walked routes such as del Vasco, de Madrid, Aragones, Spiritual Variant, Invierno, Levante. Also includes the routes in France that feed into SJPP.

This is hugely helpful. I'm walking the Via Serrana this fall before walking the VdlP. The Dutch map is the first offline gps map I've found that shows the entire Via Serrana. Thank you, Kevin Considine!

The first one is mine.

I pulled it together from the GPS tracks provided by the Spanish government's national centre for geographic information (that I presume are also used for the paper map they publish of the Camino routes in Iberia). As Bradypus notes, Camino routes can grow organically and you can certainly hear of routes, or especially variants, before they show up in "official" sources. But if you are looking for an official source, the Spanish government is probably as official as it gets (with the possible exception of the Cathedral authorities in Santiago, who as far as I know don't produce a map).

As a side note, the markers for albergues and restaurants that people on the Forum recommended are generally reflecting pre-Covid recommendations. If anyone wants to send updates....
