Cyril asked: info on the weather

Contrary to some prominent prognosticators...foretelling the weather a year out is difficult.

That said, Your are in a holy year 2010 and all peregrinos are reminded that the number of pilgrims and the availability of space will be at a premium. It's my desire to visit Lourdes prior to my departure for Santiago...I expect the multitudes to be present.

Buen Our Lady watch over us Camino,

Many, various, and continuing.
Can´t tell you much about the path from Lourdes, but I know from some guidebook editing projects I´ve done lately that the waymarks in the northern part of the Camino Portuguese double as waymarks for the Way to Fatima... they´re just painted on the opposite side of the bollard! Just get ahold of a Camino Portuguese guide and follow it backward a ways.

The weather will be sunny some days, wet others. And probably windy sometimes.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

You are the moderator , n'est ce pas ? You have an amazing blog ! congrats! I am looking for the kind of gear to pack . eg polar versus lighter. From what I have heard so far I need to have warm and waterproof footwear and L AYERS FROM lourdes to Roncesvalles ....then spring attire the rest of the way . what could serve both ?
Thanks for your hard work!
