I know! I flew TAP from Chicago to Lisbon last April. It was a great fare and I even got free luggage, dinner and a snack for a similar price. I recently booked Chicago to Madrid for $453 on Iberia. Several years ago fares were usually around four figures.I just booked a return flight on TAP from MIA to BIO for $564 for late May to mid June, this is half of what I have paid in past years.
Agreed Glenda. We Aussies are so jealous of low fares for Europeans and North Americans. Ours start in the $thousands .

Good to know. I paid twice that last week to fly on American airlines May -June because TAP had poor reviews.I know! I flew TAP from Chicago to Lisbon last April. That is why most folks from Australia, USA, Asia, New Zealand, etc. do the whole camino when we come. I wanted to do it all anyway, but if I lived in Europe I would love to do parts of the camino whenever I felt like it!!Wow! Us Europeans are so lucky, its so cheap for us to get there. I just booked a 1-way Ryanair flight for €43... Dublin (IRL) to Biarritz. When we live so close, we tend to forget about the exorbitant costs others from around the world face to just get to the starting point.
Qatar airways is pretty reasonable. We Aussies are so jealous of low fares for Europeans and North Americans. Ours start in the $thousands .
I know what you mean GlendaMac. I'm from NZ and we have the same problem. I recently was advised (from Camigas - Buddy System for Women walking the Camino FB page) to check out iknowthepilot.com and rometorio.com sites. I've seen return flights Auckland to Paris (& also Barcelona) on iknowthepilot for just NZ$1069!!! Check it out.We Aussies are so jealous of low fares for Europeans and North Americans.
