Luggage Storage in Burgos?

Walked in May 2012 - Burgos to Santiago; Planning to walk in May 2013 - SJPP to Burgos!
Hey There: I walked the Camino last May-June 2012 from Burgos to Santiago. I feel drawn to it again and am thinking of walking the first part from SJPP to Burgos in late May. After doing part of the Camino, I would like to do some travelling. I would like to bring a small carry-on bag with items for my post-Camino travel and ship it from SJPP to Burgos. Is there a luggage storage place in Burgos where I can safely store my bag for about 2-3 weeks? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! sonya

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
There is luggage storage in the bus station in Burgos. It is not in the area where you buy tickets but way down to the left where the buses depart from.

I imagine you have to be there in person to put it in yourself.

I do not know of anyplace that you could send luggage on to. Maybe somebody will hae more information.

Thanks Lydia. Hopefully there is something. I'm not totally tied to bringing a post- Camino bag so if there isn't one, it will be fine.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Sonya- why don't you contact Jacotrans and/or any of those companies that do bagage transfers along the Camino? In this case it would be to obtain a quote for receiving your carry-on on the mail, to place on temporary storage, and deliver to a location (lodging) in Burgos on your arrival day. Nothing venture, nothing gain.

Olivares: Many thanks for that response. I shall check it out.

The post office will hold your bag up to 30 days for free. They have special mailing rates called "paquete peregrino" (though I suppose those rates will only apply if you mail from within Spain, rather than from SJPP in France).

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

flyswatty,

It is cheaper to mail a parcel from one place to another WITHIN Spain than to mail it from France to Spain. Be sure to address the parcel to yourself as your name appears on your national passport and to insure the contents of the parcel. Here are three helpful Forum threads regarding shipping/mailing luggage/baggage.
