Luggage transfer on first day

Hello there, we are planning to begin our Camino in Oia, Pontevedra, and will arrive there around 2pm on the first day.. is there any way of organising a luggage transfer that day from Oia to our next stop in Baiona, bearing in mind that we wouldn't have stayed in any accommodation in Oia? I understand that most luggage transfers require pickup on the morning of the transfer. As we don't arrive in until 2pm, would we instead need to stay in Oia that night in order to organise a transfer the following morning? And therefore essentially wait until the second day before beginning our walk?

I hope my question is clear, many thanks in advance! :)

Yes, the question is clear. I don’t know the answer for sure but as you suspect, I would think you’d have to make a special request for this, given the timing.

If you are not in a rush, it would be nice to spend the afternoon/evening in Oia as it’s a lovely village, and presumably you would then also have more time after your walk in Baiona the next day, another plus. Alternatively, if you’re not going to spend any time in Oia I’m not sure I see much reason to go out of your way to start there, especially with the luggage transfer situation. You could just travel to Baiona with your bags, spend the afternoon/evening there and start walking on your original schedule the next day.

Yes I think the alternative of travelling directly to Baiona and starting from there is the easiest, given the timing of our arrival.. thank you very much for your response!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
