marking on the coastal rout

Hi!
i read and read on this forum about camino porto, and iam looking forward to start my walk in middle of july. In the beginning my plan was to start from Lisabon, but i don´t have so much vacation time so it must be from Porto. And also i was going to take the usually way, inland way. But since i read more and more here i want to walk the coastal route, but is it waymarked, or do i just follow the ocean and go north?......sounds easy, but is it???

anybody who is or had walked the coastal route...help!!!

I am trying finding out the coastal route as well. My wife and I are starting monday 6 th of May from Lisbon, following the Brierley route to Porto and then along the coast all away to Vigo and from there we will pick up the regulary route in Redondele up to Santiago.

As far as I understand -exploring this forum and linked websites - the rout along the coast from Vila do Conde (north of Porto) is poorly indicated and there are a few albergues but it seems there are plenty of pensaoes and hostsls along the coast

Although it took a little searching each day in the main I thought route was reasonably well marked.

I'll be walking from Porto and most likely via the coastal route but not until fall of 2014. I trust that it will be well marked by then but I do not care if I make my own trail form time to time. as long as you travel North your are on the path...

Are you still planning on leaving from Porto in July? What day? I am also planning on leaving from Porto in mid July to walk and was hoping to find others. I still haven't decided if I will walk the coastal route or inland.
