Hello! I think someone staying at the San Juan Batista donativo last night May have accidentally taken my hiking pole! I would love it back, these things are becoming extensions of myself lol. It’s one of the popular green ones, but I replaced the tips with red rubber ones from decathelon.

Let me know if you have it! No hard feelings, that stairway is super dark in the morning.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I do not understand: somebody take one pole from you in Grañon ?
I hope it is a mistake. Did you find another lonely pole left in the donativo ? It is hard to understand how a pair can be separated...
Anyway, I suggest you to call the gites after Grañon (this kind of stick seems to be quite rare) and I wish you to find it back.

I know, a little silly right? Like I said though, we were in a stone church with very few windows in the staircase! I choose to believe this was someone’s “oopsie” moment lol

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Sssnek - I hope you a reunited with your pole.
On a side note, I felt a small wave of nostalgia when I saw those floormats in your pic. They look like the same ones we had in 2008 and 2018... (but I don't recall anyone layering them - I think we just had one each?) I don't think anyone slept well, but we all had an unforgettably amazing time! Buen camino

I would not be surprised to learn they are the same mats! It was no feather mattress, but the experience was very worthwhile.

I would never take someone's elses hiking pole, but my preference is to use only one pole. I don't think it is as unusual as it may seem.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Using a single pole is generally not advised: better choices are 2 poles or no poles.

I've used one pole on seven long Caminos, soon to be my eighth, as I start next week on the Camino de Madrid. Some people use a bamboo stick or a purchased and lovely hand crafted staff. I'll switch to two poles if/when I finally may need to. I enjoy the freedom of one hand entirely free, mostly for taking oodles of pictures or holding a granola bar or piece of fruit while walking...we are all different.

No poles? walking through thick, watery mud puddles or a steep downhill...no thanks.🙄
I'm not walking crooked yet only using the one. That said, I bring two for the "what if". EDIT: or as a loaner.

Fortunately, poles are much more easily replaced by another pole (or substitute) than are shoes. But even so, like with shoes, I keep very close tabs on mine whenever they are not attached to my hands. Mistake or not, I hope you get it back or quickly find a suitable replacement.

I’m in Sanyo Domingo heade to Belorado tomorrow Tuesday. I have poles I don’t use if I can catch you. I give small charms”Dove of Peace” long silver hair, orange sling pack

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Hola @Sssnek sorry to hear about your misfortune. Unfortunately I don’t think this was bad luck or accidental. We seem to be seeing increasing reports of plain old fashion “theft”. Is it attributable to change of season, or just that this season there is a different type of pilgrim? I have no answer.
Hopefully you will be reunited with your friendly pole.
(Mods I tried to be respectful, please allow this one. Cheers) Buen Camino.

How kind! I’m headed out of Tosantos this morning so probably not in the cards today but I’ll look out for you on the Camino! I wear a yellow ball cap with a bee on it :)

Yes, I know that someone could have taken it on purpose. That would be disappointing, but maybe they need it more. For me, being on the Camino is a privilege and all of it is part of the journey. I am sorry to hear that this has been a struggle for others on the Camino as well.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I love your attitude and your choices of where to put your energy!

Your balance reminds me of a haiku from Ryokan, a Japanese hermit whose meager hut had been stripped of his few possessions:
The thief left it behind:
the moon
at my window

Buen camino, good peregrina!
