2020. I used to live in Pamplona & did an archaeological dig in Roncesvalles, know many Camino towns
I am planning Porto to Santiago in March, wondering if most accommodation is open, especially municipal accommodation?
Related: are there stages where no available? I plan to go slow, do shortest stages possible in general to maximize time in villages etc.
Thought to start on coast out of Porto, then central way as soon as can join.
In general wondered if many people will be walking then- some company would be nice :)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
I don't know about the Portuguese part of the route but once you enter Spain the Xunta albergues are open all year round. Even if you are the only pilgrim that night - something I encountered a couple of times this week on the CF.

You can check Gronze for the opening dates of albergues.
Gronze is only in Spanish but if you use the Chrome browser it will automatically translate to English or the language of your choice.

Thanks very helpful! Looks like most are listed as open all year

I'm doing a (very) short Camino walk between O Porrino and SdC between Christmas and New Year's Day. I've allowed for an extra day in case the weather is particularly bad (not a fan of too much...
