Zafra - Albergue Touristica - €10 or €12 with breakfast. On the Calle Ancha but the entrance is aroundthe corner, on Fuente de Maestra. Old building, bedrooms sleep 4 and have their own shower an wash area but toilets down the corridor. Cloister seating area, kitchen. Outside drying area and wash room.
Vilafranca (Almazara) - closed at the moment. Hostal Perin, at the top of town, €18. Rooms sleep 1-3. Kitchen, seating and drying areas. Computer. (I had a single room with bathroom, TV, fridge and microwave! :) )
Torremejia - Albergue Touristica - €10 or €12 with breakfast. Old palace by the church. Sheets, pillow cases and duvets. Dining room, kitchen, sitting room, TV Room for 8. Shower, toilets and wash basin in each room. Chilly, though there are radiators about.
Private albergue Rojo Plata advertising B&B for €20.
Merida - Albergue Molino de Pan Caliente, turn left after bridge, closed 2-5pm if no-onethere. €6. Sleeps 16. 2 showers/toilets, separate wash basins. nowhere to sit if weather is poor. Wash and dry areas. Kitchen only has fridge and microwave, no dishes or cutlery. Clean and clean sheets on beds. Only 5 blankets.
Aljucen - €10, turn right at the church, the hospitalera is resident at the moment, enter through the blue gate at the side. Homely, 3 rooms, sitting area, kitchen, patio. Sleeps 12 + 4 camp beds. the bar opposite the church opens for breakfasts at 7am and does all day food.
Alcuescar - donativo. Dinner provided by the Religiuos Order. Male and female wash areaas, lots of rooms, no kitchen. I found this place quite special but it was chilly and there are few blankets.
Mass with blessing most evenings. Bar opposite opens early.
Aldea del Cano - been refurbished, lovely new kitchen, sleeps 9 and has spare mattresses. I didn't stay here.
Valdesalor - free, currently in changing rooms at football pitch. Sleep on excercise mats, cold water, clean. Shop and bars in town, keys at the bars!
Caceres - albergue 'La Valeta' was 'Completo'. I saw a 'Rough Guide to Spain' whilst in Monasterio and this warned that this may be the case, I didn't believe it but it was true. I stayed at 'El Cesar' just up the road. €15, bedrooms with shared bathroom but no kitchen.
There are other hostals which charge €15 for pelegrinos.
That was what I found now, I know things change frequently, others will find it to be different, no matter what enjoy your camino!
