My first camino

Hi, i'm liz from Israel, and planning to walk the camino in sept/okt. Thinking about starting in Pamplona.I''m 47 and walking alone, never done a trek before so I hope it will be ok. I've started to walk 5km 4 times a week and will gradually make longer walks. I'll probably have questions getting closer to the trip.
Wish you all good walks!!!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Liz,
Happy training & planning. Time will probably fly and you'll be on your way.
You should find lots of help on this forum.

Hi, Liz,

Mi opinion is, when you make longer walks don't forget to take a backpack with 5 kg. inside to let your back, legs and ankles to be used to an upper weight. Most future pilgrims forget it.

Buen Camino, good training,

Hi Liz, as mentioned by others, practice all you can...but still, it wont be enough...expect to be tired out on the Camino...just take you time, and do not try to go too far or else you will hurt your feet and will have to rest several days...

Buen Camino!

Hi,

:(

I've decided to start from Burgos instead of Pamplona. Walking about 15km a day will be more than enough for me. Also, I really want to take my time and ejnoy the walking and having problems with my back it's better not to rush and have time to rest. :D
I have bought my backpack, Gregory 35 and i'll try to limit the weight to 6kg.........
sleeping bag: 750gr. 5c+ wich I hope it''s warm enough in sept.
Still got a lot of equipment to buy...
This is a great forum!! If i'd left for the camino without advice from here, I would have taken wrong equipment, too much weight and really made a fool of myself(that I can still do).

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
