I was reading my journal from my Camino last spring and came upon an entry from walk from Najera to Santo Domingo that I forgotten about. I was walking with 2 men from the UK, Paul & Gray. One suggested a game to name a famous John! It lasted almost a hour and really was alot of fun! Just when you thought it was over someone would come up with another! Gave my brain a work out! One of many cool personal interactions with my fellow pilgrims. Gearing up for this years Sept/Oct. Camino!

Anybody mention John Aseo?

By the way, at one place I worked someone would go out and buy lunch for a half dozen people. Once back an announcement would go out over the speakers saying "A, B, C to the lunchroom. D, E, F to the lunchroom." I could not persuade them to just announce "Al Muerzo to the lunchroom."

Just been chatting to a friend who is off to Sarria tomorrow (I'm not jealous, honest) who remarked that a "List of famous Johns" suggests a high end sex worker's client list . . . where do they get these ideas?
I like your friend's way of thinking. My first thought was to wonder what led the OP to a fascination with toilets.

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
