Searching for 1st time Camino...
Just found this forum and joined after searching for information on walking a camino for first timers.

Glad to know there is such a broad support and variations on many options walking the camino.

Getting ready to retire in a few years and wanted to do many caminos as I love Spain (my favorite country) after years of tourist travel to Europe.

Welcome to this forum. You have found the fountain of wealth of information regarding the Camino. This site has been invaluable to me in my planning of my 2, and soon to be, 3rd camino. Good luck and happy planning to you.

Hello, and a warm welcome to the Forum. :)

Here is a link which also may be of help as you begin the planning process: American Pilgrims on Camino's FAQs about a Camino pilgrimage

The good news is, you are in a forum with a wonderful group of people. Most are here to help people like yourself to achieve their pilgrimage goals. Forum members can offer you encouragement, knowledge, and point you in the direction that will help you help yourself.

As you are thinking about future planning and preparations, my suggestions to start are this:

Take a deep breath. Write down in large letters the reasons why you want to go on Camino. Place that piece of paper where you can see it every day. That way, if anxieties threaten to overwhelm you as you plan, you can just breath, read what you have written, and focus on those reasons until the negative stuff fades.

Make a list of questions and concerns as they occur to you, or that you already have.

Go to the Search Engine at the top right of the Forum pages, and enter the words or phrase that you want more information about. You will get a huge amount of information to explore.

If you find that you need help with anything, post a new thread so that your question or concern can be readily seen. If you post a question within someone else's thread, you won't receive as big of a response.

It's great to have you here.

As a lover of Spain, you are really in luck because it has so many Camino routes. Dream on and dream (geographically) big! 😀😀

Welcome to the forum.

Here you can play with, and plan, your daily etapas, on some Caminos: Choose English at top right.

It is a good idea to learn some basic Spanish phrases, like: right, left, straight on, where is, dinner, eat, beer, wine, etc. Some days you will be in rural Spain where English may not be wee spoken. And the people will enjoy you have taken some time to learn it...

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
