Time of past OR future Camino
future
Hi there, my name is Rhod, living in central Portugal with my wife. My family in Britain have expressed a desire to get a taste of the Caminho . We probably only have three or four days to do this but would like to start at Porto.
Two questions: Could you get a Compostela if you do the route over a period of years?
What route would you recommend?
TIA

Hi Rhod.
Welcome to this forum. You can take as long as you like to get a compostella. Your pelgrims pasport has no time limit. I did the camino from porto in 2017. It was great. Walked two days next to the coast and then went inland. It's beautiful.

Start at your front door and slowly make your way to SdC as your time allows. There is no time limit nor should you rush the experience. In which city do you live? There is likely a path closer than you realize

Hi there,
thanks for the info, I live in Castanhiera da Pera

I believe that you are just 30km (a long day of walking!) from Alvorge, a town on the Camino Portuguese! You CAN literally start walking from your doorstep - it’s a very powerful way to begin a pilgrimage. And though there is no “official” route from your home to the CP, it is easy to find a suitable route using maps.me, Google maps, Rome2rio, or similar apps.
