Hi, I am from Sweden and rather new at this forum. The idea is to try Norte in April....

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Welcome to the forum, BoH. Do you have any specific questions or just looking for general input.

I walked the Norte this year from mid-May to the end of June. In a "typical" year, if there is such a thing, April tends to be cooler and wetter than May and onwards, if walking conditions are a concern to you. You might want to pick up a guidebook or download gronze.com or equivalent. Then you can find info on which albergues are open in April as some of them are seasonal.

It is a beautiful route- highly recommended.

You didn't say when in April. Easter is April 1st this year and tends to be a busy time. Unlike the Camino Frances, the alberques on the Norte are open to non-pilgrims. Something to keep in mind.

This forum is great for information. You will most likely be offered a lot of help in response to your request.

Very probably I will also start North in April.

I do not think there's any problem.

The albergues will not be overcrowded, the temperature should be fresh, but not cold, it will rain, most likely, 20-30% of days, but it will, probably, always be a gentle rain, days start to be longer...

All together .... quite a good time for walking :)

Buen camino & Ultreia!!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
