The hard surfaces and traffic from Lisbon to Porto took their toll so we decided to hug the coastline as much as we could. We're doing about 20km each day and are often out of sync with the Albergues. Nevertheless we've found accommodation in places not listed on the sketchy maps we picked up in Porto. The tourist information offices from Porto on were a great help as were many locals. As a couple we can afford inexpensive pensions (€30). If interested I am blogging on www.8feetforward.wordpress.com
I've also kept a list of all accommodation.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thank you for your wonderful blog!
I have not read the whole story yet but I will read it little by little. Lovely pictures and memories.

I walked from Lisbon to Santarem to tomar to Coimbra to Porto to Pontevedra to Padron to Santiago in May 2015.

And I know well the coastal route from Porto because I walked it twice before (May 2014 from Porto to Caminha to Tui and Santiago---- and September from Viano do Castelo to Caminha to A Guarda to Vigo to Redondela and to Santiago).

In A Guarda we stayed at the same hotel than you (Convento de San Benito) What a great place! We asked for a recommendation for a restaurant and had a wondeful sea food dinner that night! The restaurant was next door and called Porto Guardes. I am almost sure we went to the same restaurant, didn´t you?

Thank you for your wonderful blog!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
In Grijo we were having a awesome evening meal with the family next door just like you did!
And I met Carlos in Alvaiezere!
