anyone know if it is possible to pay for showers at the albergue in Sarria as I leave the night after walk but want to freshen up.

Welcome to the forum @Patabel There are now many albergues in Sarria - not just one ;-) see https://www.gronze.com/galicia/lugo/sarria and they are very, very busy as it is the major starting point on the CF. I think your best bet would be this one: https://www.gronze.com/galicia/lugo/sarria/albergue-monasterio-magdalena as it is at the end of town and tends to fill up less. Buen Camino, SY

Albergues will very frequently let you take a shower either for free or for a very small fee. Showers are actually requested so often that some of them put up a little sign displaying the price.
