November Pilgrim

Jacqueline

New Member
Hello Everyone

My name is Jacqueline and I will start walking from St Jean Pied De Port in early November. I have two concerns, one is the weather and likely conditions at this time. The average daily temperatures seem ok to me but I would appreciate further information regarding rain, storms, snow etc

I will be walking alone so would also be interested in any comments on personal security for a woman travelling alone at this time of year.

I am from Brisbane in Australia so would be interested in talking to anyone who is thinking of going at the same time.

Take care and be safe

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hello Jacqueline
We went in December and January this year, and although it was certainly very old it wasn't wet - compared to what I've been reading about the rain recently I think we had it much easier. You might find two posts I've put onto this forum useful to you in your planning - one is 20 tips for winter pilgrims and the other is a winter packing list.
Good luck, you'll love it.

Hi Jacqueline
I am from Brisbane also, and I walked from SJPDP to Finisterre in March this year 2007.
It was apparent then that the weather patterns were a bit unusual as I had blizzards for 3 days between Najera and San Juan de Ortega. I had no rain for the whole trip (while walking) but it appears that the weather is very unpredictable.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
