October 2022 - First Camino (from Tui)

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Excited for my first Camino walk from tui to Santiago.
any suggestions for first timer? Things to do and NOT do?
what is the best way to return from Santiago to Porto?
As a new member of the forum, learn to use the search function and cloud tag. The answers to most questions, including yours, have been addressed over the years, and if you find you feel that some might have become outdated, there is perhaps some justification in asking for more current information.,

That said, forum members seem to remarkably tolerant of new members asking questions that have been answered in the past, even when circumstances haven't substantially changed.

You will soon learn that being more specific in your requests for information will get better results than seeking something more general.

And my take on questions like your 'what is the best ...' is that they are completely unanswerable when we have no idea what matters you want to consider in making your personal evaluation of what constitutes best. In this instance, is cost, time or service quality the major factor for travelling to Porto. Not knowing that makes it difficult to give you any advice on the matter.

Hi and welcome

Based on the title of your thread I would advise walking and taking your time rather than running or rushing. Your body and your mind will thank you for it.

Also make sure to take the time and opportunity to say Hi to fellow pilgrims around you as you walk.

Thanks! Totally agree! I’m a runner but going to walk the Camino to enjoy the journey and do walk the route.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I've taken the bus (Alsa) from Santiago to Porto but it's also possible to go by train. Rome2Rio is always a good place to check out your options for getting somewhere.
Enjoy, it's a lovely route and will be over all too quickly.
