Odeceixe to Arrifana in early October

Hi everyone - do you need to stop Aljezur on this section or are there any alternatives. We are staying in Praia Odeceixe and not sure if the cut inland to Aljezur is worth it. Is the walk from Aljezur to Arrifana on the longer loop worth it if we do cut in?
Most guides suggest ODECEIXE- Aljezur - Arrifana but not sure why.
