I am from just a few mile north of you and too know the joy of the wet winters! I think you'll find much of the same in Spain, especially Galicia. It is also where I felt the most 'at home' during the Camino. I think you're going to have a great adventure over there!!

I saw on another post here that the Napoleon route will be closed until March 31st as it's too dangerous for the winter months. Some say it is the law and that there are signs posted to say this particular route is closed. Better plan to go the Valcarlos route..

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hi ShaLaw, the Valcarlos route is a great route to according to my wife anyway she walked this route in 2013. You will have a great time walking there.
Wish you a wonderful journey and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Yes, from the videos I've seen, it looks quite spectacular too!! I only mentioned it, in case Peter had his heart set on going Napoleon and I didn't want him to be disappointed.

I plan on going Valcarlos next time!! Which will hopefully be next year. :)

Yes you are right. As of now the route will be closed until April 1,2016

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
