Hi Laurie

Unable to access the links

Hi, jirit,
I'm sorry, I think it has to do with my unfortunate connection with google plus. I've tried to change the access, can you try the new links I put in the original message and tell me if they work? Thanks, Laurie

The photos are lovely Laurie. We must take time to look at them properly.

Working now - thanks. When did you arrive in Santiago ?

Your camera bag is almost as big as mine!

Hi, jirit,
Glad I could fix the links. I arrived in Santiago on June 14 (Friday) and left the following Monday. So just a week ago, I was flying home, but it seems like eons since I was on the camino.

If by "camera bag" you mean my orange pouch, that elegant fashion accessory carries my tiny little point and shoot along with my "Camino kitchen sink." :D I have never felt comfortable putting passport, medicines, money, credit cards, etc, into the backpack, so I always load up my orange pouch and keep it with me always.

Are you tempted by the Levante? Buen camino, Laurie

Great photos Laurie - I will find some later this week to check them over further

I did at one time, think i might consider the Levante route, but I have a few other trails on my short list I should do first, before tackling this route. But you never know... The river of life twists and turns....

You won't regret it. I think the traffic will be heavier next year, so you have a good chance of running into others. There seems to be a geometric increase going on from year to year, but since the numbers are still so low, there's no overcrowding. I think three new albergues have opened since I walked, so the pilgrim infrastructure is getting better and better. I did a count, and I think that more than half of the nights were spent in albergues.

If you like castles, you will love the Levante. So many days walking towards one, and then arriving in town with an afternoon treat to explore.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Susanna, this is a perfect camino for you to feel very happy and smug with your electric coil. BUT, this is not a perfect camino for your love of mountains. Tough decision. o_O Laurie
I will walk both. First camino Viejo, and, if I survive that, I'll take the Levante next time.
There were lots of castles on your pics. You know I'm fond of these, too. :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
