A group of us are considering walking a part of camino as a Lenten Pilgrimage, perhaps from Leon. Can anyone tell me where I can find out if any/most/all the refugios are open at that time of year? Many thanks. JD

If you mean to enter Santiago in Easter week you will have a lot of company it is a popular time for locals to walk so the last 100km are sure to be open and busy.
Many refugios open at the end of March but if Easter week is early next year the season may start early. There are enough refugios open to make it possible though not easy to walk at any time of year.
