Planning - Average Temperatures on the VDLP

linkster

¡Nunca dejes de creer!
Time of past OR future Camino
2022
Here is a hyperlink to a Google Drive folder. It contains a series of html files (web pages) that I created that show the average temperatures for every stage on the Camino with a start date for each month.
  • I used the stages detailed in gronze.com.
  • I excerpted the weather charts from weatherspark.com.
  • I used the nearest weatherspark weather location if the original location was not found on weatherspark.
How to use the html files:
  • Download the html file to your computer.
  • Open the html file with Google Chrome.Untitled.png
In addition, there is an Excel file (camino temps.xlsm) that I used to create the web pages. The macros are not very complicated.

¡Buena suerte! 👣:D:cool:

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Thanks. Looks like a lot of work!
No hay de qué. I have been looking at temps for the Mozarabé and Via de la Plata. A couple of hours of poking around and a little coding. I have added the Primitivo and Francés to the drive.

Now you just need to add a feature to allow the input of the start date ;)

Without getting too techy ... it is slightly more complicated in JAVA due to CORS (cross origin resource sharing). That's why I shared the Excel workbook. Just change the date and run the getCaminoTemps macro.

And a Centigrade option for the "Rest of the World" :)
Really don't understand degrees F.
"Deduct 30 and halve the remainder" or something, I seem to remember from School

As a complete moron of technology. I think I will just go by what is already known. It is hot in the summer and cold in the winter and really hot in the summer and not walk and even in October it can be hot when I will walk the VDLP. If the Camino Gods permit around October 1, 2021. My secret weapon is I will check the weather forecast and if it is going to be really hot the next day or close to really hot I will leave really early and finish really early. For me soooooooo much easier. If it gets cold I will put on a sweater if it gets hot I will take it off and if it rains I will put on my poncho!!!! Isn't science beautiful???

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I think we can all over think it, this approach suited me well on CF.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
