CAMINO PORTUGUES
Hi all!

I am planning to do Vigo to Santiago de Compostela, the first week of May.

- any advice, considering the time of year?
- it ill be my first camino, for accommodation do i need to book in advance (through booking.com or another website?) or can i arrive in each village and find accommodation?
- who do I contact if i would like my luggage carried to the next location?

Thank you!!

Michelle

Hi,

Love the plans! I see that you are a new member, may I suggest you go to the Camino Portugues page https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/forums/routes-in-portugal.333/ and shift though the info there, most of these topics have been answered there. And it's an excellent source for answers to questions you didn't have.

May is often times a beautiful time, with agreable temperatures and so many flowers! Galicia, being on the coast can be temperamental though, so bring something warm and rain proof anyway.

I booked one day ahead using a combination of the currently unavailable Camino Ninja app, maps.me and booking.com; and that worked fine for october in covid times.

Have a great time!
Buon camino.

PS edited with the correct link.

Wishing you the best, Michelle. You might have time to pop in to the Information Centre in St James's church Thursday, Friday or Saturday - pilgrim volunteers are just as happy there, as forum members here, to try to answer questions.
(It is open 10.30 to 3.30)

Hi, can I get second hand poles from Casa Ivar? Happy to make donation. Walking from Santiago to Muxia, then the Primitivo. Will return them when done.....thanks
New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
