Hi
I'm a new member who is planning a first camino in July/August 2015.
We are planning to walk from St jean to Pamplona and from there we plan to hire bikes and cycle the rest of the camino. I want to know is it advisable to book accomodation now as I believe it is very busy on the camino at that time of year, all advice will be very welcome.

Accommodations are difficult and expensive in Pamplona during Sanfermines, July 6-14, so book beds now if you will be staying in Pamplona. As for the rest, it will be busy, but it is best to book a day or two in advance as you are walking. That way, you won't have a set schedule that you may not be able to stick to. Particularly, on a bicycle you will have the flexibility to stop short or go further without a lot of effort. Keep in mind that some places, particularly parochial and municipal albergues, do not accept cyclists until after 1800 p.m.

Thanks for the info, we won't be starting until the last week in July so San Fermin won't be a problem, it's actually accomodation between St Jean and Pamplona that looks to be scarce even nearly a year in advance. I am thinking of starting in Pamplona now, can we pick up our credencials in Pamplona??

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Hola!

Don't know how much effort you have put in searching for accommodations from St.Jean to Pamplona but they sure aren't scarce. Try also these sites (just click on the stage and scroll down or click the albergues/accommodation option for example:
