Time of past OR future Camino
Plan to walk the Camino Trail starting Sept 28 (2016)
When I wish to mail a package to Ivar from Pamploma to Santiago, does the postal office require the package to be open when I arrive at the post office or can I have it already sealed up and needing only to fill out mailing documents, most likely listing inside contents w/o having to open the package for inspection??
Thanks to whomever has the answer.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I mailed a package to Santiago from Pamploma in April. The package was sealed shut and the woman at the counter filled out the documents for me. Hopefully, you will have similar luck.

Buen Camino

Thanks, Dennis. I was hoping for that answer. I have to catch the morning bus at 10 to SJPP from Pamploma so want to spend little time at the post office.

When you walk into the post office take a number and look to the left side. The folks on the right side sell stamps and don't deal with packages. I didn't have any wait at all. Hope you have similar luck.

From memory when I posted my carry-on bag the customer service representative (CSR) ask a general question about contents; then handed me a flat pack carton (a test of ones origami skills??) they also sell packing tape & will even offer a large marker pen (works better than an ordinary pen for writing the destination details). These packing cartons come in two or three sizes - depends upon how much junk (heavy stuff) you have to send.
As Dennis said once I handed the box over, the CSR (lady with happy smile) handed me a destination form - I with my limited Spanish I handed her the print out I had of Ivar's address - she did the rest. Box & tape I think cost around E6.50 and postage (surface off course) around E8.00 (but could have been more). One thing to note - if you are sending a box to Ivar include your "gmail/hotmail" address and he will email you when it arrives. Service with a smile from both parties.:):cool:o_O

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Sounds like an efficient, easy process so thanks for info. One never knows. Clay

There are two post offices (correos) near the bus station:
Calle Estella, 8, 31002 Pamplona, Navarra, Spain
Pablo Sarasate, 9, 31002 Pamplona, Navarra, Spain

[Edited the above to correct an address]

As I remember that was true at the Pablo Sarasate office but I think there were actually two number dispensers, one for each side. Anyway just be careful to use the correct one.

And while you are there remember to get stamps. :)
