Hi there. My parents and I will be walking the last 100km to Santiago de Compostela from Sarria. Just wondering if I register is as a group, will we all get individual certificates, or will there be only 1 per group? Or would it be better to just do a single registration for each of us?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
When my group arrived last week, they wanted us to register as a group. We were 11 total, but only about 30 or so pilgrims had arrived that day by the time we finished.

You do not need to register when you start. Once you get to Santiago and get to the pilgrims office, you might find that if there is a long line of pilgrims upstairs... 3 or more people walking together might be sent downstairs to the "groups" office. One of you will nee to enter the information for everyone in the group.

You get one Compostela per person.

If you all have smartphones it's best to register online as individuals to speed process up and when you've done that you automatically receive a QR code. You will all get the Compostela but you all have to go to Office and to gain entry you all have to show the QR codes. If you don't register in advance as Ivar says you can still go to Office and fill in the forms manually but you will need to spend more time there. For larger groups say 6 or more one person can register the group and then go to Office and collect all the Compostelas (yes it is downstairs for Groups).

Just a bit of info that is not yet widely known: The website of the Pilgrim Office in Santiago was redesigned last year. You can now enter a single request for the Compostelas of two or more people, something that was previously not possible. Just click on Groups in the tab Register, enter the contact data for the whole group such as your email address and then add the personal details (name, age, motif etc) of each member of your group one after the other.

You do this either on your own smartphone or at a kiosk at the Pilgrim Office.
