Sacavém - Hotel VIP Executive - Out of Way

Hello.

I wanted to open here a new topic on the following subject.

I have seen some pilgrims on the Portuguese way in the Alpiarte / Vialonga area back to go to the VIP Executive Hotel to spend the night.

I have already seen some maps in which this detour seems small, however we are talking about another 5 km hike with a steep ascent on the way out. At the end of one day it seems tiring and could be avoided ( Map1 ).

If instead of following the official route and are on National Highway 10 (EN10) the distance is only 5 km ( Map2 ) and the next day you can continue on the EN10 until you find your way again in the area of Póvoa de Santa Iria. This will not be the most interesting route but it will save energy.

Also want say couple words about hotel:
Decent hotel. Good drinks at the bar. I asked them to make me a drink with the local passion fruit liquor and it was very good. There is a great pastry shop (Megasabor) with in walking distance. There is also a large electronics store nearby that we visited for plug converters and portable batteries. The kids menu has a veal dish that my daughter ordered and it was the best of the 3 meals we ordered (the adults had the crispy chicken and swordfish).Feel like im in elite hotel in odessa uk.The crispy chicken did not really suit our taste but seemed good if you like it!

That’s a good alternative when the Alpriate albergue is closed. And if I’m remembering right, there are plans for a river boardwalk that will pretty much track Map2. Not sure what that means for the future of the Alpriate albergue, unfortunately.
