Setting off from SJPP 6th Sept 2012

Hi All

Been looking at walking the Camino Frances for a few years but have only now had the opportunity. I've recently left the armed forces due to injury so hoping to get some extended rehab and much needed rest/recuperation (however strange that sounds describing an 800km hike!). Have been lurking here for a few months, taking advantage of the amazing wealth of experience and advice in the forums.

Anyway, arriving on Bayonne on the 5th of Sept, all going well I'll be setting off from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on the 6th. Haven't set a timetable but will likely be taking 30 - 35 days to get to Cape Finisterre.

Maybe see a few of you on the road... Buen Camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Brandane,
First off...let me say "Thank You" :) Thank you for caring about your country. I'm sorry to hear of your injury. May "The Way" be gentle and kind to you and a speedy recovery. Buen Camino! Semper Fi :D
I will be behind you by a couple of weeks! Chase the rain away please! -Lynette

Welcome to the Forum, Brandane!
Don´t hesitate to ask any questions you might have and you will get lots of answers and opinions from other Forum members!
30 to 35 days is very doable - you will be walking quite long days though with 25 - 30 km each day. Quite many pilgrims walk less than that each day. You should maybe allow some extra days in case you need to rest.
If you take alook at the Camino Calendar you will you will not be alone!
The Camino Frances is a great way for recuperation!
Buen camino,

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Brandane,

I plan to walk in September/October, although I may start a few days ahead of you. My birthday is early in September and I want to already be on my way then. However, you're bound to catch up with me! :)
