SIM card is acting up

This morning my Vodafone SIM card went goofy, kept putting up alerts about iMessage, which I’m not even using. When I shut off the phone and turned it back on, it said my SIM card is locked. I’m on WiFi now. I have the packaging from the card but I have no idea what number on the packing is the code to unlock it again. Does anyone know if it’s one of these numbers on the packaging, before I hunt down a new SIM card? It’s only a week old so it shouldn’t be used up already.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You most likely need to put in the PIN number of the SIM card. It should be written on the paperwork you have from Vodafone (on the plastic card I think it is).

It will ask for the pin when you turn on the phone.. once the correct pin is entered, it will connect you to Vodafone and you should have a Vodafone signal..

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

It is also a scratch off area on the deck you broke it out of.

I have to switch between Sims and hope I don't lose one. My original for texting, and the Spanish/Vodafone for internet, but I can't make a call on either.

I hope you have better luck!

I don’t use texting when I’m traveling. I’m using WhatsApp which works with the SIM card. So does Instagram DM and Facebook Messenger.

You can use WhatsApp and Messenger to make calls too. I did ask what my phone number is when I bought the SIM card but I haven’t made any calls the standard way. Mostly because I cannot communicate well enough in Spanish to make a local call.

A very good suggestion. Unfortunately none of my colleagues or any of my family use WhatsApp. It feels a little presumptuous of me to ask them to download another app, when the switching gives me access to everyone and I bear the burden, as I should.

Whatever works for you. WhatsApp is common in Europe so I was already using it to contact albergue owners, and other pilgrims use it to stay in touch. It was only my husband who downloaded it specifically for me. For my friends and children I use whatever social media platform they are already on (IG, FB, etc). YMMV

Hadn't thought about the albergue part, good point!

Hi all, I’m starting my Camino Frances on May 12. I’ve booked my first night in SJPDP, but I’m starting to worry I need to book more. My plan was to take it day by day and just turn up, but lots...
Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
