Sleeping back, do I really need one?

Hi there
I am about to go on my first walk around the 6th of June, starting from St Jean Pied-de-Port. I have a bit of an iffy back and am trying to keep weight down to a minimum and I have always been terrible at getting the sleeping bag back in its holder. So do I really need a sleeping back, could I get away with a small blanket.
I am so excited but a bit overwhelmed by all the choices to do with kit!
Thanks
Peter

yes absolutely you can get away with a light blanket in the summer
but you'll want something between you and the mattresses as well
maybe one of those silk or nylon sleepsacks meant to be used in hostels
i made my own sleeping bag out of two meters of lightweight polar fleece
basted loosely up the side

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Leslie thank you so much for you quick reply, I like the sound of the sleepsacks but might investigate making my own one, I hadnt thought of that.
Take care
Peter
