My wife and I will be doing the CF mid September through Oct. I am confused from what I tead on the Ivar blog. Shouuld we bring thin sleeping bag or liner for this time a year. Would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you peregrinos,

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Temps at night can be cool. Some albergues have blankets some do not.

And, some albergues turn on heat others do not.

Buen camino.

Liners are good, if you are a "warm sleeper" for some months of the year. Most albergues supply you with a sheet and most supply you with a blanket, so between the 3 one should be okay unless you are a "cold sleeper" then a light sleeping bag might be needed.

I walked CF same time last year. I carried a 45 degree down bag. No regrets. In fact, when I go same time next year with my fiancée we will also carry lightweight down bag.

Carried a light sleeping bag that unzipped to form a blanket, was grateful to have. I am "hot sleeper" but it can get cold.

I vote for the sleeping bag. I did the CF May/ June this year and was more than once greatful for having my sleeping bag with me, due to chilly nights or/and my own comfort. I guess Sep/Oct will provide similar night temperatures as I experienced.

In case you opt for the liner, just don't go to places that don't have blankets, eg parochial in Granon. I can't remember seeing blankets in albergues run by Xunta de Galicia...

Hunbertico, I completed the Camino Francis two years ago. I began September 19th in SJPP and completed my journey in Santiago, November 4th. I vacillated over the liner versus sleeping bag issue like you but in the end, I took a very light weight (less than 2 lbs) bag that was good for temps down to 45 F. I encountered all types of weather and in the end, was happy that I took it over a liner.
