So portugese or last 200km possibly Leon to Santiago again?

Hi I've only got two weeks holiday next week to fit my Camino in and was seriously thinking of doing Porto to Santiago... but heard the route is a bit boring? Would I be better doing Leon to Santiago even though I hate the bed race? Advantage is I know the route and love the Bierzo wine...

I found the Portugues absolutely stunning, not boring at all. Lots of cobblestones till Barcelos but after that...perfect!

I could never describe the Route from Porto as boring. Each to their own I suppose.

thanks everyone... It was a Youtube Video that said the route was mainly on the side of the road and lots of walking in Eucalyptus forest. Do you recommend the coast route or the inland route? Also any top tips on Albergues and eating places much appreciated.

Walk out of Porto following the river and up the coast to Matosinhos. From there to Vila do Conde and then head to Rates to pick up the main route. Make sure that you stay at Casa de Fernanda but you must book in advance. Brierley's guide is most helpful.

Did Leon route in May,2014, so no bed race. Just did Porto route in May, 2016. It WAS NOT boring and the people are great. But that's just my opinion.

Did Leon route in May,2014, so no bed race. Just did Porto route in May, 2016. It WAS NOT boring and the people are great. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks that is very helpful ... I do want to do a different route next May was it very wet in May? and any Albergue's you really recommend especially any without bunks

Casa Fernanda has no bunks and is not to be missed. Albergue Alojamiento has bunks, but each unit has a curtain and a light contained within the enclosure much like a rail sleeper. Hotel O'Cruceiro in Caldas de Reis just cost 27€ and Hotel Rosalia in Padron went for 25€.
Rain-just drizzled a few days except for last day when it rained medium to hard all day long. Do not skimp on rain gear. Bom Camino.

the Galician section is much more developed, more roads, less cows, less bars outside of towns and no tiny hamlets...

on the other, less pilgrims and you'll be crossing the Rías Baixas wine region = Albariño!

it's a very different Camino, but still worth it!
