Starting my first Camino departing SJPP on 28April

After visiting Santiago de Compostela in August of 2013, I started thinking about actually walking the Camino. It's been on my bucket list. So my plan is to start out late April from SJPP. Target date is April 28th, though that is not written in stone. Got my boots, now need to get the rest of my gear.

Walking this alone. My husband, though supportive, thinks that I'm nuts. So I would love to hear from anyone else that is planning a late April Camino.

Looking forward to an adventure of a lifetime.

Two years ago it was still snowing in early May, last year spring arrived in the Pyrenees early April. There is no crystal ball to forecasting the weather in these mountains but if you want to avoid a wet and cold start you might want to consider mid-May. I'm starting late in May from Oloron-Sainte-Marie to avoid the weather but then I have the luxury of looking out my window to see what is sitting on top of the mountains in Spain.
