Thank you Rebekah. I edited my posts above to point to yours. You can get an inexpensive travel box in Carrion de los Condes at the Chino -- it's up top of the hill next door to the Pizzeria Italiano. With one of those you can ride the bus to Leon, catch the bus at the Bar Espana in the morning. (there's a vet next door to Bar Espana, don't know if they have boxes there.)
Wow! Thank you so much for all the replies! The good thing is that we don't need a vet. We just need rest. I have indeed thought about getting a baby carrier but I have no idea where I could get one from. She is 15 kgs, so it would be a challenge but definitely some solution. If not I will look for a carrier.
Thanks again!!
And Vacak can use it to pull your pack when you think you can do no more.I see people carrying children in hiking strollers. Maybe go to a sports store and buy one for the pup?
your dog won't be eligible for a credential if it doesn't walk the last 100km.
Haha. She has a Credential anyway. We will see if we can walk the last 100 kms.your dog won't be eligible for a credential if it doesn't walk the last 100km.
Just to share info regarding travelling with a dog on a bus or train. From my experience buses will not allow dogs on the bus with the passengers but rather force you to put it in with the luggage which is fine for a short ride but in the heat and for a long trip no way! I ended up paying for a taxi from Finisterre to Santiago as there was no other way to get back to Santiago with mine. Luckily Renfe does allow dogs and only at €5 euros a good deal. Mine is only 5 kilos go I just carry him in a bag when travelling.
@vacakos noemi I would love to hear where you slept. Did you take a tent?
Good luck and Buen Camino.
Hi Noemi -
It would be great to see a photo of Vacak ... would you mind posting a photo of her? I bet she's absolutely beautiful!
Cheers and Buen Camino to you both -
Jenny
Hi Noemi -Hola! You can see her on her blog: dogtravelssite.wordpress.com . It is in Hungarian but it also has where we have slept so far.
