Camino Ingles (2017)
Hola todas,
Due to start my first camino on Tuesday (22nd) with the Camino Ingles. Was planning to get my credencial in Ferrol but read that the tourist offices don't always open in accordance with the advertised times. I gather that the cathedral is the reliable option but as I've now left it too late to order one online I'd appreciate a bit of reassurance from others about this. Thanks!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You might factor in enough time the day before walking to look for one. Good luck and Buen Camino!

So - absolute beginner's question - if I go into Santiago en route to store luggage might I be better off getting a credencial there? Ie will it serve for a Ferrol start?

Yes. Any credential, even a used one, will get you into albergues. A completed credential will have a Santiago Pilgrim Office stamp in it signifying completion, but the Office will stamp it a second time, too. A new one from Santiago will be fine. The Pilgrim Office has them, and I am sure other places will have them as well, but I have never asked.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
