Sweater/base layer recommendation (Merino wool)

I’ve been on the hunt for a lighter weight Merino wool sweater. My Smartwool sweaters are getting long of tooth and for some reason I’ve been unable to find the exact replacement from Smartwool. Everything I’ve found has been too heavy. I finally found a sweater from Minus 33. It’s a midweight 100% Merino wool crew neck sweater. My XL version weighs in at 10 ounces (284g). I just wore this sweater as a second layer for a five mile walk on a 40F/5C degree day and I stayed nice and warm. I bought mine on Amazon. I highly recommend this sweater to you.

Another option if you live in the USA, go to your local Goodwill (or other charity shop) and buy a super large men's merino wool sweater. Then put it in your washing machine on HOT and wash it. Then depending on how small it gets, put it in the dryer and felt it. Check it every few minutes until it's the right size.

I usually try to get merino/cashmere.
Lightweight, waterproof, warm and comfie!

Anybody have any recommendations for specific inexpensive or discounted merino wool t-shirts or underwear?

In my dreams, some smart forum user will know about a sale and post the link here...
